Are we not still a sovereign nation? It's time for isolationism again. We've seen what this "inclusion" of other nations in our political process has gotten us. Nothing but sell out politicians who will bend over backwards to appease some dirt country that doesn't have anything to offer in return.

This seems to be the theme of the current presidential campaign, but doesn't this go against what the founders of the US intended.

Can someone show me where the founders identified the US as a Christian nation?

Every few days we here the same story being reitereated by top people in the Bush admin or in the military: Iran is supplying and helping our enemies in Iraq.

If you asked me six months ago I would have said there's no way the US is going to do anything militarily here.

But now I'm beginning to wonder.

Over 10,000 killed in 1 year by gun crime, and thats in the states.they should not moan when soldiers get killed overseas when 10 times more people get killed in their own backyard by gun crime. Is it not time that it was made illigal to carry firearms as it is in the UK .I realise that it is te use of the weapon and not the weapon itself that causes the killings but are there too many guns in the USA on the streets.?

It used to be embarrassing to be linked to anything sexual in my day ( am middle-aged) but to do this in a classroom at that age? (14) WTF is going on nowadays? What would you tell your kid if they were in that classroom and had to watch intercourse between their classmates.

As the parents of Maddie did do what health and safety experts would call a risk assessment and decided on a course of action to monitor their wellbeing, How could they ever be found guilty of neglect?
Also, those people who claim that the children would have been safe if the parents had stayed with them, it's not necessarily the case.
For example; my young daughter once awoke in the night and decided she would go downstairs and make herself something to eat.
Having watched how my wife and I made bread and butter she tried to do likewise.
Getting a knife out of the drawer and then climbing on to a chair to reach the table, she slipped and succeeeded in stabbing herself in the neck. Fortunately she recovered after emergency treatment. The presumption that your children are safe because you are there is false. Do we as parents have to stay awake for twentyfour hour of the day-impossible.
The mcCanns judgement may have been wrong, but it was a mistake and nothing more.

It makes no sense to me when huge lawsuits (for example the one against the woman who downloaded songs that is the news) are filed against someone who will never have that kind of money. It 's like if someone sued me for millions, well they would never get it as I don't even make 10k a year. Why do people and companies waste their time suing for something they will never get?

.....kicked a blind father of five to death have both been jailed for just 12 and a half years ?

(According to press reports, Lewis Barlow and Leon Gray who were 14 at the time of the attack, knocked 45-year-old Colin Greenwood to the ground then kicked and punched him to death 'for fun' as he waited at a tram stop. They were then seen walking off laughing and boasting about the brutal beating before joking about what sentence they would be given).

Do you think 12 and a half years in jail is enough for this callous act? What sentence would you impose?

He came out to today and declared that the US does not torture, but John Yoo (Deputy Asst, Atty. General) defined all interrogations as legal as long as they do not produce "organ failure" or "death".

If that's Bush's definition as well...I guess I agree that the US does not "torture".
