My idea of the best thing would be if someone invented an engine which is more powerful and efficient than any internal combustion engine. It would eliminate our need for foreign oil if we had a practical and marketable engine which ran on something different. But what do you think would be a great accomplishment for the US?

There are cars that get sixty mile's per gallon and if everyone drove them we could be independent..but most people want huge trucks and SUV's..plus better public transportation so people don't drive so far to work..let kids walk to school like I and my kids did..get rid of the diesel guzzling stinking buses,,build homes that are efficient not like the air leaking over priced boxes built today..there are a multitude of ways just like Brazil did a few years ago...but no one cares or will listen so this is what we get.....ninety dallor a barrel for oil and going...

Get an intelligent,articulate,literate,honest president for once...cut out the political agendas,start caring about the real people of this country and not just the wealthy,do something about our healthcare,our troops healthcare and out of harms way,give the politicians social security and watch that problem dissapear,stop relying on oil,give our schools more money,stop taxing our citizens so much,lower prescription costs,make college affordable and stop letting them run credit checks,stop violating the constitution,start executing admitted pedophiles,give harsher punishments to rape and lift the statute of limitations and lighter punishments on drug dealers,I mean,I would rather see a pedophile or rapist get 20 years versus a drug dealer-the war on drugs isn't working,the war on terrorism isnt working,keeping us in the dark and paranoid is,the media needs to stop the spin and detach itself from the entertainment industry for goodness sake...do something about this damn murdfer rate in comparison with the rest of the world..oh boy....i could go on and on but I love my country!!!I'd rather be here than anywhere : ) nothing can be perfect.....

I think the US should follow the lead of France, which gets 80% of it's domestic energy supply from nuclear energy. We should also switch to electric cars, with gas stations being replaced by battery depots where you can pick up charged batteries for long trips.

Oh and maybe bring back all the manufacturing jobs..so we can build our own TVs and computers and other things we did back in the day...then maybe people can actually rely on having a job for life.

I agree with "mad as hell".
Stop Outsourcing, Stop Importing, Be self sufficient.
If we can't make it in the USA - do without it. Provide full employment for our people and deport the undocumented.
