just when we have got a smoking ban, everything else follows. i.e now we are drinking too much, we all going to be obese by 2050, we are all going digital so all the tvs thats upstairs will have to be on freeview or sky multi money out of us again , i enquired yesterday about sky multi room , and been sky subscribers for 20 years they told me 99.00 for each room plus 10.00 for each box a month, what a scam, to get free view new digital aerial with amp then freeview box for each tv about 150.00 pound altogether why should we after to pay this out we pay enough on tv licence per year do you agree.

The problem is that now we have become a nation of wussies. We let the government organise us without really having a proper fight against the system. I moved long ago in protest as I didn't want to deal with a country that made such ridiculous rules no matter whether I was born there or not. People need to stand up for their rights more. If you smoke make it a rule to stop going out and invite people to your house instead. The lack of trade with pubs and clubs would cause a problem if everyone did this. If digital TV is unfair hook your computer up to your TV and watch the programs through that. If you find the right channels and bit torrent sites you will find that it's better than normal TV anyway. Research the solution to your problem and then teach others of the way around it. We live in an unfair world but you can get around it if you aren't afraid to break the rules occasionally.

Of course I agree with you, and all of this so the fat cats can get even fatter, and what about the weather, every time it rains or gets a bit windy you lose the programme anyway.
I can't afford any more money on TV, I already pay for a license and for Sky so I am afraid my 2 other TV's will be thrown out with the rubbish.

I'll be so glad if I am required to pay for TV. Then I just won't get it and I will not waste my time watching it. I will use the Internet where can can go to subjects I am actually interested in and not what some stupid talking head thinks I should be interested in.

PT Barnum used to say, "There's a sucker born every minute." The modern day version of that is, "There's a rate payer born every minute."

I agree what is England coming to. I have not got Sky, I just have a free-view box on all my TVs all have been working fine hope they will still do when we go digital, but will I have to replace all my TVs with HD ready ones?

It helps pay the wages for the likes of Jade Goody and all the other so-called reality celebs on that awful Living TV channel. I refuse to subscribe to anything and just have the Freeview channels.

When one right goes the rest soon follow. Everyone screams for their rights to be invaded by the government and when it happens they scream louder that the government did what they asked. So goes the smoking ban. Next you will be told what you can and cannot eat to save the insurance companies and government money. So goes the rights of smokers, and everything else. One thing I can say for sure and certain, when you invite the government in to rule your everyday lives they have no problems with that.

It's what this country is all about.

Laughing boy Blair and Brown aren't worried,

There pockets are full so, we can get stuffed.

I am British - not proud of the fact, and am not living here by choice. It has become the dustbin of the earth.

I only apologise to our war hero's.!

Yeh I so agree. I think we are heading for a big fall. Analogue is so reliable never fails us. You get a bit of rain and there is no satalite signal hence no telvision. Digital is always breaking up. and this is supposed to be progress,

i am glad about the smoking ban, but when it comes to the digital tv hassle your right, it is just another way of us paying more to the fat cat companies and the government. it is absolutely nonsense and free view companies, sky tv, and aerial installation companies have all put they're prices up and enjoy scamming us.
