In the McCann feeding frenzy how many times does it take for a lie to be repeated for it to be believed?
No matter that almost no facts are known, a few people repeatedly condemn the McCanns as if the evidence of murder is indisputable. They imply it's only a matter of time before others who admit they don't know are shown the error of their ways.
Some seem utterly convinced of their innocence, and are then abused for condoning child neglect. Others seem to be of the opinion that whether they are involved or not, they deserve locking up anyway.

Only a few weeks ago, I leaned firmly towards the conviction that her parents had nothing to do with Madeleine's disappearance.
I still haven't seen solid evidence to the contrary, but the constant drip-feed of hostility and malice masquerading as fact sometimes makes it difficult to keep an open mind. Doubts creep in.

Justme..."end of debate" and "media speculation"? You just (twice) proved the point that assumptions become fact in some closed minds.

Jack H. You are confusing "proof" and "evidence". The police evidently thought there was enough evidence to charge Robert Murat as an arguido, but presumably the proof to back it up wasn't there. Similarly the fact that the McCanns have been made arguidos too means little without proof. We know some of the evidence that is reported to have been found, but we're still waiting for the proof.

Super point Netty...!
When there is NO PROOF to back up an accusation of murder all you have are words...

Words are strong. All it takes is a good wordsmith to cleverly word a sharp edged sentence which will surely sway the minds of those interested but on the fence...

Suffice to say we have plenty of witty wordsmiths here on YA more than willing to take up this "cause" & slate the McCanns in a misguided attempt to bring justice to Madeleine.

They need to know that accusing the McCanns of murdering their Madeleine without proof is no game.

What if people believe them & so give up the search for Madeleine who may well be abducted & still alive?

I feel that i have to agree with you. There is a vast amount of gossip on the McCanns. I believe that she has been abducted, and I am strong enough to remain with it until I see something really convincing against it. Obviously, Madeleine found dead or alive would start convincing us. How about a confession from someone? We can speculate for a long time, but I think that I can recognise gossip for what it is.
And how about searching for the little girl?

A dreadful article in the newspaper perpetuating the constant speculation but condemning it at the same time. Written by someone who obviously has issues.

Plenty of lies have been told by the McCann camp and they have been told directly - anything the press cooks up as coming from the Portuguese is from an unamed source.

Works both ways - perhaps people beleive they are guilty because of lies and perhaps people beleive they are innocent because of lies.

I think the list of people paid to support the McCanns speaks volumes about their feelings of their own guilt.

Hallo.......another pro-McCannit has come out of the woodwork. No evidence? What case have you been following? So the McCanns did not abandon the three children,to go to a bar, with their doctor friends. So Kate did not return to the same bar shouting" They have taken her" What they? They did not totally discount every sighting of Madeline, until THEY were named as suspects.B They did not go to Germany,to raise funds when there was a definite sighting of their daughter...so definite that a forensic team was sent to test the glass that the little girl drank out of.They did not set up a limited company..with a McCann on the board to control the vast amount of .money...did they. They did not promise to help the Portuguese Police in any way.....and then refused to answer 90% of the questions they were asked .did they The smell of death on Kate came from her working four hours a week as a locum.....God those fresh corpses stink....dont they. They did not run as soon as they were named as suspects....did they? And who did they seek out as soon as they got home.....why the best extradition lawyer in this country. WHY? And then they got what every innocent person must have.............a team of SPIN DOCTORS..are you seriously telling anyone that there is no evidence.......if l ever commit a crime can l have you on the jury..you muppet.

See human beings are afforded the "thought" process, no matter what the media throws at them, the mind (being remarkable as it is) takes in information and throws it around until that specific mind can make some reasonable conclusion from what has been taken in. So then you have the gossip, which word (gossip) has been around from the dawn of time. To date, no gossip has benefited anyone other than those who speak it. Small minded (usually uneducated) humans choose to make up information (which in their mind is the truth) which they then do their best to see that the multitudes believe as they do. Now this McCann thing, there is so much information and just as much gossip going around in this regard until the multitudes are now over information-ed and just don't give a flying cow chip, so now to sit idle and just wait for the outcome, which will come, is all there is left to do and to keep that dear little girl and her sisters in prayer. God Bless.

i feel the same as you,i try not to let the media influence my thinking in anything, but here are so many conflicting opinions,at first the media was solidly behind the mccanns,as the weeks wore on with no real breakthroughs, they got bored with that approach, and started some juicy headline grabbing romours.lets face it the real facts of this sad situation are not really known as yet,and may never be.and at the end of the day juicy headlines sell tabloids.people seem to have lost sight of the fact that a child is still missing, and what the mccanns are going through doesnt bear thinking about.there but for the grace of God go any one of us.

The McCanns tell lies. this is a fact.
Gerry McCann said
"we have been assurred by the Authorities that what we did fell well within the bounds of responsible parenting"
That is a lie. Pure Simple. No "Authority would ever say such a thing. It is against the law to leave your childrenm unnattended in Portugal, as in most civilised countries.

Now it might not be a big tghing and it was early on. t was then that knew he McCanns were liars.
I believe Gerry lies every single day.

You say almost no facts are known...

I will list the ones that I am aware of.

The Cadaver dogs signalled very energetically the presence of a body in the apartment.

They went crazy again at the hire car.

There has been DNA found in the car which gives a very strong indication that Madeleines sedated dead body was in there.

Kate McCanns account of what happened doesnt add up.

The Tapas 9 account of what happened doesnt add up.

There is no evidence to support he McCanns story.

The above, taken in context that the McCanns are liars is enough for me.

I'd happily throw the switch on an electric chair and burn them both for disposing of their childs body like an inconveinient bit of rubbish. McHunts...

Sorry, I couldn't be bothered to read India's long article, which of course, is her opinion again.

The only people guilty of anything are the parents. We're chatting over the garden wall, and it won't change the written facts when, or if, this case goes to court.

I have not been swayed by anything or anyone. Right from the start, the fact is, that they left 3 very young children alone. It is negligent and something any normal caring parent would not do for any reason, never mind going on the p1ss. They should be charged.

Let's see the T/D then
