Or "faucet" to Americans.
The bath tap sometimes leaks water onto the floor if it's not shut fully tight; instead of dripping into the bath tub, the water travels along the underside of the tap, along the back of the bath and down onto the floor. It only happens sometimes (I think it's when the water is "thick") but it made a real mess last time.

Is there a simple way to fix it without replacing the taps?

I have an old house (built in 1891) and most walls are lathing and plaster. Also interested in finding the cost of installing ceiling fixtures, as the only lighting in bedrooms is from lamps. There IS a lightswitch routed to an outlet for the lamps. Located near Twin Cities, MN.

I had a brand new Price-Pfister tub and shower set installed recently. Shortly after installation, it began to drip from the tub spout. The plumbing behind the walls checks out ok. I inspected the cartridge and replaced all of the gaskets and o-rings I could find. After slathering everything with waterproof grease, I put it back together, and the tub spout still leaked.
Here's the funny part though, the leak itself acts like it is timed. After running water into the tub I would shut it off, and nothing would leak. Then 10 seconds later, the tub spout would leak water. After a while, it would trail off and stop. Then another 10 seconds later, the leak would begin again, and it would keep going on and off with that 10 seconds in between leaks.
There is nothing else in my house using water at the time. As far as I know, the pressure from my city water is constant. No other fixtures are behaving like this. What could possibly be causing this?

What is the machine called that has two metal tips that touch eachother. When you take two pieces of sheet metal and put them between the tips and then press the button or whatever, the tips come together and fasten the sheet metal together. .

thanks

She said there were about half a dozen in the sink, she has used bleach and boiling water on the sink, but then said she saw four on her ceiling. She has checked around the cupboards etc, but can't find any source. Is it possible they have come from outside. Her house is very clean, so I can't see any problem regarding that.
Where do they come from, and how do you get rid of them.
I have just had her screaming down the phone as she is terrified of them, but I don't live near her to go and help.
Any advice would be appreciated.

It feels like I'm buying light bulbs every time I turn around...I've had two laptops and a video camera whose batteries won't charge anymore; to use them, I need to have them plugged up. What's going on? How expensive is the solution?

p.s. I'm about to walk out the door, but I WILL choose a best answer, probably in the morning.

I live Florida. I moved into this home last April and we put a lock on the thermostat in May or June and since then the bill has gone up at least a $100 each month. Is this box preventing the thermostat to run properly and contributing to the high bills?

I discovered a small hole behind my stove as I was cleaning to search for this stench in my kitchen. I wonder if a mouse has gotten in there. Can I just pour bleach in it or will I have to knock the wall down to get it out?

We had our house built 4 years ago and our dogs have made a lot of scratches in our hard wood floor. Is there something I could put on the floor to hide/fill in the scratches and claw marks? or do I need to buff the floor with a buffer? I don't want to have to sand and refinish the floor until we decide to sell the house.
thanks if you an recommend something.
