you cannot get it to stay straight after water gets in it. The only thing you can do is strap it up very well

You did not say why you want it straight or what you are going to do with it. But, you can stretch a piece across the yard and put a weight on each end, leave it in the sun and heat for a few days that will straighten it, best of luck.

A good hair dryer should help. That stuff is really stiff. I'd be a little leary of using one of those heat guns, they get so hot you could easily melt a hole in it.
