My air conditioner in my bedroom is fairly new (two or three years old). When it turns out it makes a sudden loud noise and it continues to run very loudly. It almost like a very very loud ‘whirring’ noise. When I turn on the fan only option on the unit it is quiet and runs normal. Does anyone have any idea as to what could be causing the problem?

It looks like it has been painted before. Its maybe laminate or normal counter stuff I dont know. I'm moving and don't want to be charged for something the company is just painting over anyway.

I am having trouble keeping my lawn mower running. It will start but quickly shuts down after about 2-3 seconds. Although, if I continue to push the fuel primer button it will continue to run. If I keep doing this for about 5 min, the machine seems to warm up and it will run on its' own. It almost seems like it is not getting enough fuel. I have replaced the sparkplug, cleaned the air filter and checked the oil. the next thing I will try is a fresh batch of gas. I think the gas is from last season, but I've never had a problem in the past. It is a 21" Sears push mower with a Briggs & Stratton engine (if that matters).

Has anyone dealt with this in the past? Any ideas would help. Thanks for your time.

One of the electrical outlets that has been working the past 7+ years failed on me. Took a voltage measurement with my mulitmeter and got 27V instead of the expected120V. What could've caused this? A weakness in the line perhaps? If so, does this mean wall must be removed to fix it?

Curious as to know how much air conditioning would cost to cool a 300-350 hundred square thousand sized home for the summer, say even just 3 months, at around 22ish. Parents are cheap SoB's and say it costs too much to cool the house. Thanks.

I had a dryer once and the door was broken, you opened the door and the dryer kept turning and it was great! The clothes would go around and keep moving and be nice an unwrinkled as I pulled each piece out. My question is, how do I break the door on this dryer? It is safe?

Does anyone here know what causes it and how I could fix it? It's tilted properly so water drains to the backside and is doing that well, but it spits water out the front ever since it became so hot and humid a couple of days ago. Any help would greatly appreciated. Thanx!

This is the first time living on my own (having to pay all bills associated with running a house). I just got my electricity bill, and thought it was a bit high, so I thought I would put it to Yahoo answers.

I live with a roommate in a 700 sq ft 1-bedroom. We both work from 8-8. When we leave, nothing gets left on (no lights, no A/C). Our heat & hot water is gas-based, as is the stove & range. We use CLUs (13watts each) for lights, and there are only 5 at that (1 in bedroom, 1 in bathroom, 3 in kitchen). When not in the kitchen, those 3 lights go out, and at bed everything is off. We haven't turned on the A/C yet, as we just open the windows and turn on the ceiling fan in the bedroom and that is usually enough. No TV yet & no computer.

My bill said I used 250 kwH in a span of 14 days. I thought a normal family of 4 in a 2000 sq ft home uses something like 2k kwH per year, and we're on track to use 6k kwH per year at this rate.

Seems high for a gas-based apartment?

I live in Florida and I need to store food products in my garage. I need to keep my garage cool as I plan on storing food products in my garage. I need to keep the temperature in the garage at a steady 78 degrees. Is it more feasible to run the cooling from my exisiting central air or to get an independent system for the garage? Will I need to sheetrock around the walls inside the garage and or to add insulation??? any help will be greatly appreciated...

I have a Vulcan gas wall heater, is it more economical to run it at low overnight so it's warm when we wake up, or put it on high/boost for 2 hours in the morning, just to heat the house?
