I have a new water heater , it is sealed to keep vapors out. It has ran fine till yesterday when the drain in my basement got plugged and left about 1 foot of water in my basement.

It has a pizaro to relight it with, but it will not work ( possible, because striker is wet). I want to just remove part of the plate and relight it with a lighter , but there is a warning that saysto not remove the front plate.

I bleed off the gas and valed it off for over 24 hours, while I had a space heater next to it, it still does not want to light.

Any ideas will be appriciated.

I have 3 Kidde smoke alarms, one for each floor. Every now and then one will give out one short, very loud, BEEP and do this once every approx. 30 secs for about a day. They are all wired up to the mains, so it couldn't be a low battery. One started last night, so I could hardly sleep. Does anyone know what's wrong?

Thanks, I'd really appreciate any sensible suggestions.

We just redid the a/c system in our condo.. new duct work and all- everything is brand new. We have a humidity meter, and i put it directly over the vents, b/c im trying to find out why my allergies are bad, and was advised to keep humidity down in my house. Our humidity ranges from 45-60 in the house, but the vents emit something different and Im trying to conclude if this is normal before we go investigate. The A/C is down in a crawl space, and it is somewhat damp. The Ductwork might need to be sealed up also (hubbie hasnt gotten to it yet).

When the A/C is "ON" and circulating- the humidity ranges from 60-65%.

When the system is on "Circulate" (which is a feature i really wanted to keep air running through our IQ Air hepa system) it is REALLY humid, registering around 75-80% (WET) on our meter.

Im guessing the coils are wet, and the air circ's over and brings moisure with it upstairs.

What, if anything, can we do about this?

System is American Standard 16 Seer w/ Air handelor.

We are having our hardwood removed and the floor inspected again. I am thinking that the builder did a poor job of installing the subfloor. So any other info on sub floors would be greatly appreciated as well. I live in VA if that makes a differnce with standards (which I don't think it should).

Right now, the condesation from my AC leads to a pipe on the side of my house. This drips into a bucket, which in turn drips onto the grass creating a swamp. What is the best method to get rid of this water so it doesn't lead to a soggy yard and risk damaging my foundation? Thanks.

I just had a concrete driveway poured (no staining, stamping, etc). When asked if I needed to keep it moist (I had heard this helps the curing process) they guy said no. I'm seeing on various internet sites that I should. I just had it done less than 48 hours ago and I'm wondering what I should do.

I have had my 19.2v craftsman cordless set for about two years now and the batteries are not holding a charge as long. I have seen on Ebay these repair manuals that claim you can repair them and I do not know if that is true. Has anyone repaired there cordless battery and does it work. Would you tell me how to repair my 19.2v craftsman cordless battery?
