The new florescent bulbs (CFL) are the most economical. A lower wattage bulb gives off the same light as a higher wattage incandesent bulb. They are more expensive to buy, but last longer and use less energy.

CFL's are more economical in the long run....They are more expensive than a traditional lightbulb. However, they do contain a small amount of mercury and should be disposed of carefully.. I believe that Home Depot/Lowe have a special disposal program for such light bulbs.. Although, I use them, I don't care for the type of light they emit....
