I had a dryer once and the door was broken, you opened the door and the dryer kept turning and it was great! The clothes would go around and keep moving and be nice an unwrinkled as I pulled each piece out. My question is, how do I break the door on this dryer? It is safe?

First of all, your dryer door wasn't broken ... your dryer door SWITCH was broken, broken in the on-all-the-time position. The next thing I say goes against everything I say every day: You can 'jimmy' the door latch on the door to stay activated at all times. However, I can't help but wonder why in the wide, wide world of sports you think pulling your clothes out of a rotating drum one piece at a time would be a good thing. There has never been an article of clothing manufactured that would wrinkle within a span of 8 seconds. If this is a legitimate question, scrap the jimmied-switch thought and stick with the tried and true system.

Stephen is correct, but I would add that most every dryer I've worked on in the last 15 - 20 years, has a cool down cycle incorporated into the normal course of drying a load of clothes, and I can't remember the last time I saw a piece of clothing that wasn't permanent press. Shouldn't be any reason for your clothes to be wrinkled when they come out, even after they're dry and the unit shut off.

You do realize if the door is open it will take an aweful lot longer since the heat is not longer confined and " is escaping" so it will run much longer to dry the clothes than is necessary.
At the same time there exist the potential hazard; in particular, in any environment where there are children or animals.

On my dryer door there is a small tap that pushes into a small slot to keep the on button depressed. I suppose if you broke off the tab you could insert it into the depression and tape it down.

i wouldn't do it the clothes will continue to fall out as the dryer tumbles,there is a safety mechanism that will prevent it from working if the door is open

There should be a little button or lever that you can just tape down and the dryer will keep running.

why would it take you so long to take the clothes out that they would wrinkle so much i wouldnt break the door on a good dryer.if you could get the top off you can get to the door bracket to remove it.

These switches are called IDIOT switches. They are there so IDIOTS do not stick their hand in a running dryer!
