Every time I turn on the air conditioner (central air), the whole house smells. I'm not sure how to describe it, maybe like a sewer. I've walked around the house and every room smells the same. When the air conditioner isn't being used, the smell goes away. One more thing: every time the air conditoner shuts off, it makes a noise - like a clicking noise. Any ideas?

I have lived in my house for two years now. It was originally built in 2004 and I am the first owner. Recently I noticed that the brick wall which is the side of my garage is separated from the wood. It looks like there isn't much mortar and definitely no brick ties. Is this something I can go back on the originally builder for even though the house warranty was only for a year? Can I sue and would it even be worth suing for after paying lawyer fees?

On newer push lawnmowers there are no adjustments on the carb. When you take off the fuel tank and carb to clean trash from the tank these springs get bent some cause them to be out of adjustment or something to where it does not run right. What must I do to fix lawnmowers that have these cheap cheesy carbs on them? I think both are 3.5 briggs.

I need to buy a new bathroom exhaust fan. Sometimes yellow beads of moisture drip down the walls from the ceiling (and they're yellow because the previous homeowners were smokers). I think a bigger/better fan will help. But apparently there are different speeds (CFM?) and I don't know what I should get. I don't know what I have, either.

Also, I need to buy a part for the showerhead. It isn't securely attached to the wall and I think a piece is broken, but I don't know what it's called. It's a circular metal part that goes around the arm of the showerhead. I assume that it is supposed to grip the arm and the wall, but mine just twirls around the arm and isn't connected to the wall at all. What's this part called?

I have heavy aluminium chairs around a table on my outdoor patio, see http://www.norths.co.za/cat6.php?catID=7
My patio floor comprises unglazed tile, and the chairs are hard to pull out to sit on and once seated, to slide toward the table. The ends of the legs are round +- 18mm (3/4 inches).
I have tried felt pads - no good - they wear away in days.
I have tried hard plastic caps - a little better - but still difficult to move.
What can I do to allow the chairs to slide easily.

I moved into a townhouse in October. In the last three days there has been this very loud vibration behind the walls it seems. It shakes the walls and everything. It is getting louder and going longer. When you turn on the faucet or flush the toilet it goes away until you turn on water again. The upstair toilet now runs alot more and longer than it used to. Being my first house, I have no idea what this is or how to fix it. I have a 1 year warranty on the house, but I have $100 dedutable. HELP ME.... it is very loud and disturbing.

When my tub was installed grout was used to seal the tub and ceramic tiles together. Today that grouted seam is beginning to crack and crumble and needs to be repaired, replaced, and/or corrected. What should I do? I have been told by a friend that grout should never have been used to seal that area in the tiling process and that the grout needs to be scraped out and the seal made new with a caulking compound. Is this correct and if so, what caulking compound is best suited for this? I noticed also that the grout around the shower window is not properly sealed and needs to be corrected as well. Can I simply add more grout to this area for a satisfactory fix?
