He worked on my sister moblie home. Fixed water line. invoice said, he used 1 3/4 by half, 1 1/2in. sleeves, and a foot of 3/4 pipe. It took the around 45mins, this include them going to get the parts. The bill is not itemized.

You can figure about $75 per hour for the plumber and about $40-$50 per hour for a helper. Going to the supply house takes time. That time is part of the cost.

I hope he didn't charge you more than 75 bucks. Plumbers usually make house calls for around 40-50 bucks an hour, and with the materials your talking about only costing about 5 bucks plus what ever fudging they put in the fine print at the bottom of the page. Take five bucks off for each inch of butt-crack you see, and that comes to about 75 bucks. The only scam I could see him trying is saying he couldn't get just a foot of pipe, that he had to get a roll. In which case you ask him for the rest of the pipe or to take it off the bill!

personally, ive never seen a 1 3/4 in water line. i dont know what you paid, but 150.00 would be ball park. i would look at work performed.
