Not sure if this is why my tub is leaking but water is coming over my tub and when this happens it leaks under the tile and onto my basement floor. Shouldn't the floor be sealed well enough to keep this from leaking under the sub floor and onto the basement floor. I noticed that the tub is not sealed well adjoining the wall near the floor and tile but I still can't see how enough water could get under the floor to cause that much of a leak.

Hello Everyone:

I am in the process of building a shed. I have alreaddy erected two walls. One back wall and one left side wall.

When I am erecting the third wall which is the right side wall there is a serious gap in the wall frame and the floor (about 1 inch).

I measure the wall to see if it was not the right size but it comes out to be exactly the same measurement end to end (even all the studs are the same size i.e. 2 x 4 x 92 5/8).

The gap starts at about the middle of the floor and proceeds (at an angle) to the end of the wall which is the front of the shed.

Please help me as to what I need to do to fix this issue. I would appreciate your help

I came to my tool bag today and found I didn't even have a pair of pliers, which I realised would be useful for the job at hand.

Did a search and theres loads of different types of pliers, from combination pliers / diagnol side / longnose / circlip... its confusing.

And I think there's probably loads of standard tools which should have in toolbag - but only ever find out I could use it when I need them.

Fortunately I had a full set of torx bits when needed them recently. And please what's the name of the device which you run across and area of the wall... and if it finds metal or live cables it will beep ? A 20 year old one which was given to me is broken and needs replacing - and these things are useful to avoid electrocution.

Thanks.

I still have a year on my lease. We have been here for two months, and already, the plumming has gone haywire in the building TWICE. The neighbors entire home was flooded in feces... someone washed their clothes in feces, and, I (right now as well as the first time) have feces coming through the toilet, the sinks, and the tub. I cant wash my hands, take a shower, wash dishes, cook, give the dogs water, and the worst part of all of it? I have a 4 month old baby... I CANT WASH BOTTLES OR GIVE HIM A BATH! On top of this, the carpet is SO CHEAP that is CONSTANTLY sheds. So much fiber goes through the vacuum that the vac bag gets completely full after using it once! And, my baby wont stop sneezing. Also, our roof started leaking a week ago. It looks like the ceiling might fold in. They came in and spray-painted my off-white walls with white spray paint to cover it up! (as I type this, Im listening to the plummers gag and heave at what they're facing)

The problem is that the heat will only work properly in the 'emergency' position. In normal operating mode, the unit will kick on when the temperature in the home drops only 1 degree and then blow cool air until the temp drops another 3 or 4 degrees before kicking in the actual heat. In 'emergency' the unit functions perfect......any suggestions to remedy this problem? Thanks!

i'm building a wall to close an old opening to my garage. i am using breeze blocks, and want to fix them to each side of the opening to secure the new wall. I can't tie them in by interlocking the blocks, as the walls are already built, or use the wire things which are placed in the cement. I've heard about metal strips which you fix to the existing walls, and slot the new blocks into, to give the new build more strength ... but what are they called ???

I had my home inspected before purchase and both home inspector, agent and me thought there was a problem with a heat pump. Seller got the heat pump inspected with a licensed techinician and the latter issued "fine working condition" inspection report. Right after closing and moving in to the new place I realized that the heat pump was running all the time regardless of demand. I called the same technician who said this time that the compressor is gone and the whole thing needs to be replaced. I firmly believe that the compressor was a preexisting condition. There was like 40 days between the two reports. What should I do? Thanks.

have a williamson temp-o-matic oil burning furnace. recently ran it out of fuel oil and had to bleed the line, got the furnace going but now the fan runs constantly and shortly after the heating cycle stops it blows cold air into the house since it is in the basement. shut the power off to furnace in hopes of it resetting itself, didnt work my other option is to shut fan off completely.

My garage door opens, usually in the middle of the night.
1. I've taken the batteries out of the remotes and it still happens.
2. I've changed the code and it still happens.
3. I've replace the wiring from the opener to the switch.
4. I've blown out with compressed air to make sure it is not a dust issue.
5. I am not around any military base.
6. I've make sure all connections are tight and secure.

Any help would be wonderful...

Surely as the boiler heats the hot water i bath in, it can also heat the water thats in my radiators ??

I would control the room temperature via radiator thermostats
