I have an oil fired aga that runs 24/7 and which we cook on and which heats the hot water in the house.
Surely as the boiler heats the hot water i bath in, it can also heat the water thats in my radiators ??
Id shouldnt even use any more oil , should it?

Its a 2 oven and 2 hob AGA.

I would control the room temperature via radiator thermostats

Any problem with this.

You can run cental heating of an aga, But you will have to change your copper hot water tank From a direct cylinder to an indirect so that the hot tap water is not contaminated with the central heating water which gets very dirty. Also check on the aga if there are two blanks which you could fit a 22mm flow and return pipe. You will need to fit a central heating pump for the heating and I think you can only have a maximum of 3 rads. Ask a plumber to check it out for you.

When I was a kid, as a boy it was my job to go down and start the coal fire before the rest of the family got up (girls aren't allowed to light fires).. We are a large family and in winter all eleven of us were in a tiny living room because it was the only room in the house that was warm.

Dad had a mate who was a plumber and we had a free supply of plumbing bits (mainly from ICI, one piece at a time, as you do). One day there was a huge pile of beer bottles in the out house (like an outside cuboard), I thought we were going to have a party. But as it happens about twenty blokes that dad knew turned up, they ripped the fire place out, put a huge boiler behind (probably an industrial one as it too came free from ICI. There were men all over the house pulling up floor boards, putting in pipes. Then when it was all connected up a new fire built in front of the boiler.

The whole lot took one day and only cost dad the price of the beer.

We were the first in our area to have centrol heating. In opened up the house so as kids we could play in the bedrooms. It also meant our house was the best place for parties, christmas and new year, as well as many extra ones in the year. We were also the chosen house for winter wedding do's, for anyone from the local pub. (winter weddings are weddings that need to be at short notice, otherwise they would wait for spring).

But it still depended on me getting up first and lighting the fire. I was the key to all this, but did I get paid or thanked? No, I just got a thick ear if I slept in. Mind, having loads of sisters meant I never had to iron a shirt until I joined the RAF, you know the basic training lesson where they teach you how to iron shirts? I was the only one that had to pay attention, because I'd never done it before.

Anyway, I strongly suspect that your AGA can do just as good a job as my fire did. Just make sure you get up early and light it, or you get a thick ear.

Yes you could run some things of your AGA.
see first what the KW output of the unit is,
reserve 1.5 kw for you domestic water, the rest could be used for radiators.
Each radiator has a KW rating.

or put in a woodburner and join them togther with a Dunsley nuetraliser

Yes. The recent Mayor of Patchway does it all the time.
