Can anyone suggest a site or give quick tips on how to repair a non-working light (1 of 4) on a ceiling fan?

All the sites I've found so far just give instructions on installing the fan.

The new tub faucet does work but it doesn't go all of the way on the pipe. Is there a sealant we can put behind it? With the old faucet it had an extended pipe. We tried to twist it off but it is securely on! What should I do? The tub faucet that was there is an antique!

after the heating reaches temperature, goes off, then comes back on when it's required, I hear a noise which I can only describe as being like a 49cc. scooter passing by a double glazed window. In fact I thought that was what it was the first couple of times I heard it.
Anyone (preferably a skilled plumber) got any ideas?
P.S. I have done nothing to anything requiring 'CORGI' personnel.

are house sits about 100 ft from the rd and when it rains hard or the snow melts it all comes toward the house. it get so bad sometime that it comes into the gargage and our garage is 40ft long by 24ft wide and it goes all the way to the back of the garage and then goes down the walls and into are basement. it also comes in the front of the house when it rains like that because everything is down hill. we put a drain in the garage and also have a drain in front of the garage that runs the length of it and we have it drain into a different part of the yard, but because so much comes in the drains cant handle the water and we get flooded in the basement and in the garage. we have a sump pit in the basement but its on the opposit side of where this water comes in so it never gets there. how do we keep this water from reaching the house. is there such a thing as a yard sump pit. we cant slop the yard away from the house because its the whole front yard and its huge. any suggestions

There was a natural mote in my flowerbed so I decided to shape it a little more. When I was spraying it down my neighbor pointed out a hole. The hole seems to go down about 1 or two feet then the water looks like it runs off to either side. It is right next to my house. Is it a sinkhole? What kind of damage can it cause? Any way to fix it?

I recently moved into an old apartment that has gaps in the shelves of the kitchen cabinets. I found a couple of bugs (eww!) and I think if I can seal the gaps it might help keep them out.

What's the best way to do this? Caulking?
