We were having trouble pushing it last month when it went out, but it worked after a hard push by my husband. Now, it won't reset, no matter how hard we try. Just wondering whether this is a problem easily fixed (by us) and how, or if we need to hire an electrician.

When the sump is filling the float rises slowly and sometimes it does not trigger the pump to run. Seems like the the trigger gets stuck when it rises slowly. Any advice?

How much would it cost to lay a foundation for a 50 foot by 70 warehouse which would store at most 4 automobiles. The warehouse is for a repairs course. It would contain running water, electricity, heating, and a proper ventilation system. What are we looking at here? if your a contractor, please leave your info! thanks a whole bunch!

FYI, "waiting it out" is NOT an option--it's in a room w/ no windows.
I know the easy answer is, "open the wall and remove it." But HOW..? I am having difficulty finding a pro to do such a little job, and if I ask my landlords, I want to give them specific directions (so they can't spew excuses about it being too difficult or not knowing how). Thanks!

I have a standard 1 light, 2 switch set up. I want to wire in a second light to the circuit. I have 14-2 wire run from the second light to the switch, and have tried a couple different ways of wiring it in, but the second light will not turn on. I have a white, a black, and a red carrier wire. How do I add a white, and a black wire into the back of my 3 way switch???

I have an old-style Potterton central heating timer (i.e. with the manual slide-along switch type thing, and clock dial). But it seems to be broken.

The clock moves round until it gets to the time that the heating is set to come on, and seems to jam there, therefore it is not turning on by itself.

Would I be able to fix/replace the timer by myself, or would it require a heating engineer, and if it needs replaced, do I need to get the same type of timer that I currently have, or could I buy a newer digital model?

Our boiler burns Kerosene.

I tried to run the self cleaning because we sold our home and was trying to run the cleaning cycle before we have to move out in 6 days. After about 1/2 hour I saw flames coming from inside and quickly turned it off. N ow the door is locked, Any ideas on how to unlock it? I swicthed the time on the clock and that didn't work.

This is a Briigs & Stratton 18hp cast iron flywheel. I have removed them before but this one is stuck tight! I have the retaining nut off, tried a gear puller to the point of fear of damage, I've heated it with the puller on, while banging it with a 2lb hammer!! Any tip or trick is welcome! I'm soaking it now with wd40. Should I try drilling out the flywheel key? Thanks in advance!!!!!

I believe the previous tenant smoked in my mom's new apartment as it reeks terribly! I had the landlord replace all the carpet and they did repaint, but I'm guessing that they didn't clean the walls first or use a sealant like Kilz because we can still smell the smoke. Will it help to clean the walls ourselves despite the new coat of paint or should we just repaint using a sealant? Anything else we should consider deodorizing that may help?

How much would it cost to have the front and back of a mid-size terrace house cavity wall ties replaced?

Also can cavity insulation be done at the same time and if so how much more will this add onto the cost?
