My small 624 sq ft 1bdrm condo has a very powerful air conditioning. Since it's such a small space, when the a/c comes on the condo gets cold very fast. The cold air blows all over me and it is bothering. However when the A/C is off it gets hot. Is there any way to lower the intensity of an air conditioning unit? In addition, the A/C is pretty loud.

I recently had someone come over and replace my gas fired water heater.

Immediately following (and ever since then) my water pressure has not been the same. I had the contractor come back out to take a look at things and he said that someone in the neighborhood must have been doing some water work and that it was a "coincidence" that the water pressure decreased right at that time.

Is there something that he could have done wrong during the install that could have caused this? Should I call another contractor for a second opinion?

Anyone had experience with warping? I currently have a drywall ceiling in the garage, up to the door opening motor. The edge along one wall appears to have warped and has disconnected from the wood framing. Can it be fixed, or does it require replacement?

Have to replace two tommorrow.A friend told me that there is a metal pole that you can install in to the concrete the piers that has sides to it so you can drop the fence post just above the water line and then bolt the fence in with lag bolts. Is there such an item and where can they be purchased.

My toilet has been clogged for about a month now (I do have another one), but I've tried Drano (about 3 gallons of it now), a snake, and of course, a plunger.. what else can I do? I really don't want to have to call a plumber if I don't have to.

Just bought a new house. The gas water heater has a small length of garden house hooked to the drain valve. The drain valve is as tight as it can go in the OFF position, but hot, milky water drains out constantly and into a floor drain.

Is this normal? It seems like we're wasting a ton of water. I've found notes online about self-cleaning systems, but I can't tell if this is what we have.

Help!

When we rebuilt our home after a fire, the contractors said they couldn't vent our new dryer as it was before. It went up 10' then horizontal another 15' to outside. They discovered they hadn't vented it until after it became a hassle to install. They told me it was out of spec and the dryer was too far from an outside wall! THEY have also lied to me in the past about 3-4 how or how not something can be done. Instead, they have installed this 6" x 12" x 6" box thing that the vent goes into. It supposed to grab the lint. BUT you have to clean it out and add water about every 5th load and they have it sitting way in the back. You also need a strainer to seperate the lint & water. It also makes the upstairs about 80 degrees and extremely humid. The windows even water up sometimes! SO... should I be asking for the old type of venting back or live with what I've got???? Remember it was a fire so we should be getting the same house as before. Thanks again, jaime

I live in northeast US, while removing weeds near the tree trunk in front of the house, I found termites and ants. My home is 17 years old. Should I be concerned?

Last year, when I replaced the mailbox, found the termite again. Called home inspector to see if I had any infestation of termite. He found none. My home is built with concrete walls and have a basement. Normally, I put cedar mulch around the trees and house. Any info or help will be helpful.

I have had one plumber tell me to regularly fill my sink/tub with COLD water and then pull the plug to let the rush of water keep the pipes from clogging. However, a different plumber told me to do the same, but with HOT water. HELP!!!! I don't know what to do.

I have a problem with my sprinkler system. When I turn on the water sprinkler it does not have enough pressure and it would only come out of the sprinklers like a boiling pot of water on the stove.....If the problem is something deep, then do I need to dig the pipes and find out, or is there some kind of way I can check without digging up the pipes. We just had a one week of snow in february or late january so I don't know if that could have caused a problem???? The water is coming out really slow and it is not squirting out like it should.....Also I did by new valves for them and it still did not solve the problem.
