The driveway is about 15 feet by 30 feet. Any estimate of what it will cost? (I know that this will vary company to company. Just a rough estimate would be nice)

Tons of Limestone at 450 SQ FT

Assuming 4 inches in depth:

(450 S.F.*4/12)/27=5.56 TONS

For more inches just plug it in before the /12.

In my area limestone gravel cost about $15 per ton. Figure $80 for delivery with a dump truck and 10% extra.

$15*6 TONS (figured in with 10% added)=$90+TAX +80 for delivery =

approximately $180 total for delivery of 6 TONS of limestone gravel.

How deep is the gravel you want to use. I believe the gravel would have to be order by the cubic foot or yard. Say you would need a 15ft by 30 ft drive with a 6" depth. you would multiply 15 x 30 x .5 = 225 cu. ft of limestone gravel. If you have to order by weight, you will have to find out how much a cu. ft. weighs and calculate the weight 225 x the price of a cu. ft. = $XXXX

You should call around to your local gravel pits and get a Quote on the phone , you probably need about 12 tons to get a couple inch or better layer, D-1 is good and packs nicely and after is hosed down the rocks show up better, you may not like loose stone because it tends to scatter.

2 tonne would be plenty to give you a good thickness(not too thin so your liner shows through. You can get 1 tonne bags for £30 at most builders yards and they will deliver too.
