I have a problem with my sprinkler system. When I turn on the water sprinkler it does not have enough pressure and it would only come out of the sprinklers like a boiling pot of water on the stove.....If the problem is something deep, then do I need to dig the pipes and find out, or is there some kind of way I can check without digging up the pipes. We just had a one week of snow in february or late january so I don't know if that could have caused a problem???? The water is coming out really slow and it is not squirting out like it should.....Also I did by new valves for them and it still did not solve the problem.

If it is not cold enough for the pipes to still be frozen, then you have a leak in the mainline, the back flow is not open all the way, or the main shut off to the sprinkler is not open all the way. Did you just turn the sprinkler on for the season? If so make sure the main valve is open. If it is a gate valve, it may appear to be open when it is not. That is a common problem with them. I would check the backflow 1st.

not sure what part of country you live in and what kind of valves. there only a few things that will make this happen. #1 a leak in your lateral line which is the pipe on the out side of the valve. # 2 a valve that is not opening all the way. # 3 a bad selinoid . turn that zone on and walk around looking for a leak. with zone on open the manual bleed for that valve and see if the water pressure increases. check the omhs on the other valves then check the omhs on the valve that is giving you the problem to see if they are about the same. if not bad selinoid.

Let the system run for a while. If you know about where your main line is, walk it and look for water coming out of the ground. This is where you will have a leak in the system. Dig it up, cut the line there and install a poly barb coupling with two hose clamps. You might have more than one leak so after you repair, check the system again.

see if you can remove the sprinkler head it may have a blockage in it preventing the water from spraying properly..if water has a lot of pressure when you remove head and turn the water on to test it then either clean the head or replace it..

It sounds to me like you have a leak somewhere. Be prepared to dig.
