Does higher number mean colder or warmer?

The higher the number, the colder the fridge/freezer. It's best to get a fridge/freezer thermometer though. I have to turn my fridge setting to No.8 to get it cold enough (which makes me wonder what Nos 1 to 7 are for.)

most Fridge and freezer have a model number found on the inside wall of the Fridge. With this number and a "magic box" you learn all most anything about your fridge
