sorry i'm not sure what it's called. it's an old lawn mower (12 years probably) and the rope just dry rotted out. however, the lawn mower itself is still in good shape. just wondering if this is an easy, cheap fix. thanks!

I planted my tomato plants the 3rd week of April. They have quite a lot of fruit on them and they tomatoes are quite big. When should they start to riped though? I water them about 3 times a week and the tomatoes get sun from about 8 or 9 am until about 6 or 7 pm. Also i live in Pennsylvania if that has something to do with it.

I have some plants out in a garden and need to water them often, when is the best time to water them? I have heard that you shouldn't do it on hot sunny days and you're only supposed to do it in the morning or in the afternoon when the sun is not out. Is that true or can I water them any time during the day?
My lawn is really dry too and is starting to turn yellow, are there any tips on how to water it or what kind of sprinkler to buy?

I recently bought a "sweet olive" tree inside the Walmart Nursery here in my home town. My mother-in-law has one planted in her front yard, and the smell is absolutely wonderful!!! It's the sweetest scent I've ever smelt. I knew if I ever found one, I'd buy it.

Well, this morning I picked up my shovel and here I go...dig, dig, dig. I dug the hole at least 2 to 3 X's larger than the root bowl, and planted it. Well, after my bath, I found the instructions on planting the darn thing. It says to plant the "top" of the root bowl, level with the ground. That's where I might have a problem, because I planted the top of the root bowl at least 3 to 4" below ground level.....did I screw up???? Will this kill my tree? Do I need to dig it up and start over, or will it be OK?

The previous owners of my house had planted grapevines everywhere. I have been digging and pulling them up for 10 years and yet, every spring, they come back! The roots are very deep and spreading and I'm not physically able to dig them up. They're spreading like CRAZY and the grapevine beetles are excessive, also. I want to get rid of them (vines and beetles) permanently. I don't want to use any chemicals if possible, but I will make an exception in this case. Any Ideas?

The thing they're building is light grey. Several dozen insects are flying in and around it. Nothing was there a couple of days ago!
