i plant mine straight from seed, in April, after all the night frosts have finished. they can be planted in March, but u have to be careful, because if we get some late frosts, it can damage / kill your recently planted vegetables... (although u could always get the plants to germinate indoors, then transplant the seedlings when the frosts have gone) at the moment i've got potatoes, peas, carrots and broccoli growing in my garden - although some of them haven't grown as much as last year... i think all this rain, and lack of sunshine must have affected them.

Late feb in the south for early variety potatoes and up to late April for main crop potatoes. As for other veg the planting times are in a good book or on the back of the seed packet. Take a visit to a good garden centre.

Early spring is the best. I normally plant mine in March or April. My grandfather would plant his as early as February, although I think that is a good bit on the early side. Just don't forget to treat them for potato flea beatles once the leaves start coming above the ground. They can decimate your potato plants.

Normally, I plant potatoes and onions first. They seem to take the cold weather best. Stuff that is below ground like potatoes, onions, peanuts, etc it seems like you can plant early. Most garden crops should be planted by early may. Although there are many you can plant clear up to August or September. You just have to look at how many days it takes for them to mature. Green beans, radishes and lettuce are good examples.

If you are in the Northeast, I always start my potato plants memorial day weekend, and plant snap peas and lettuce then. My tomatoes and other veggies I start indoors in February, and start hardening them off during the days in May. By the second week in June, they are ready to go in to the soil, and I've avoided frost & freeze. If your in the south, try the Burpees people , they have good seasonal planting schemas, but I would ask gardeners around where I live, because we all llive in micro climates, and gardeners like to share, so don't be bashful

In the phillipines, we can plant potatoes from december to april which is dry season. There are two seasons in the Philippines, Wet and Dry season. If we plant it during rainy season, it will only be destroyed by typhoons and it is only planted in Baguio and Benguet where the temperature ranges from 12 to 25 degrees centegrade

That all depends where you are. You need to wait until all danger of frost has passed but you cant start in the middle of the summer in many places.
