I dug up a bunch of iris' a couple of months ago. I planted them in the ground a couple of days later (you can leave the bulbs out up to 2 weeks). But, now they seem wilted and getting brown. They were never REALLY healthy, but they should be looking a little perkier by now...I thought.

Are they getting that way because they are just done blooming? Or is there something I can give them to get healthier?

I'm taking care of a pool for the summer. I've been taking pretty good care of it, but I'm not sure how to recognize algae.

How does it look, where does it grow, etc? Thanks.

I have a questionable bush in my sideyard but can't determine if it really is poison oak or not. The best way for me is to send pics, which I have (about 5). I live in Northern California.

Anybody know where I can send my pics to online/website and get a reliable response?

Northern Maine, middle of July (It's about 20 minutes from Canadian border).
What flowers bloom each year, perennials?
I cheated: two questions in one. Sorry.

My girlfriend recently moved. At her old house she had several very large sunflower plants, the smallest being at least 6 foot tall. I told her I would transplant them to her new house. The new house is over 100 miles away, I have a pickup to transport them in but how do I make sure they will survive the trip? Will the old wet paper towel thing work for this? Does anyone have any special techniques for this? Thanks in advance.

How long is their bloom time. I take care of them like babies, fertilizing, watering, etc.

P.S. Contrary to readers' suggestions, the blueing stuff I bought at the nursery didn't work despite using 2 cans of it from early spring thru today. The color of the flowers turned an ugly dull pink/brown.

I've just moved to the Texas Gulf coast, and people tell me I can get the banana trees in my yard to produce fruit. Can you tell me what I need to do to accomplish this? Also, I am a landscaper, so I have lots of experience with the basics, I just came from an area too far north to produce fruit on the bananas. Thank you, thank you.
