Buttercup Plants, can you grow them in a pot?

I have them in a pot but they dont seem to be very full, they look as though they are thinning out, they are about 12-14 in tall, should I cut them down some?

Yes, they are among the plants that are listed as favorable to growing in containers at this website about container gardening. Keep at it, they will grow fuller in time with proper nourishment

no their growth will be stunted in a pot . i have one in my yard and it happens to be one of my fav plants .
