My mom has butterfly bushes. We thought they were root grown. But we are finding new ones all over her yard. I dug up some and put them in my garden, and they are growing and are butterfly bushes. How's that happening? I thought the were root not seed. Anyone know if they are root or seed?

Butterfly bush can be propagated by seed or by cuttings. Yes, they will spread by seed. Deadhead your blooms to prevent spreading.
