Out tulips started blooming but the same day they open they fall apart. The petals fall completely open and begin to fall off. Some of the blooms have started to crumble before they even open all of the way. All of the other tulips in the neighborhood last a few if not several days. What is wrong with ours?

Im looking to plant a garden this coming spring and need some pointers from experienced gardners. Im thinking about planting a small plot behind my shed [against the back wall] (northern side). I figured it should get enough sun this way instead of being on the east or west side of the shed. I want to plant tomatoes, peppers, herbs, cucumbers, and maybe some peas. Since i figure that the plants that are closer to the shed will get more shade, any advice for what order to plant them? Or should I just consider moving the plot away from it and keeping it out in the open?

Girlfriend bought pot for indoor plan, but the pot has big drainage hole on the bottom. Re-planted plant into it, soil seems dry all the time even after soaking it with water. When I water the plant, the water streams out pretty fast out of the bottom. Perhaps the hole is too big? Do I need to buy another pot or can I fix the oversized hole?

I just installed solar coach lights for my pathway on Sunday. They are "supposed" to be a "bright white", according to the package. They are glowing mosquito zapper blue. They glowed this color for the last 2 nights. Is it b/c they need more days to charge? They came from Walmart. Please advise!

Lavendar is so pretty and smells so sweet but everyone tells me it is hard to get started. I bought seedlings and have already set them out in a sunny location. I live in the Southeast US where temps have already been in the 80's. All ideas welcome. Thanks

I haven't actually bought the tree yet. I'm thinking about buying one of the following trees: a) autumn cherry; b) white dogwood; c) red dogwood; d) okame flowering cherry; e) red rocket crape myrtle; or f) scarlet red maple. I want to plant it near the back rear corner of my house. How far away should I plant the tree so there won't be any foundation problems or the tree looking funky because the corner of the house is shaping it?

I know I can propagate it from cuttings, but I prefer seeds. Does anyone know how can I manually pollinate it, or anything about its biology that might help? I have been trying insects, but so far no luck

Thanks!

when can I find out what the last frost date is? it is defiance ohio. every seed pack says to plant after the last frost date.... but how can I find out when this is?

I also need to figure this out because someof the seeds I want to start indoors, but need to know the last frost date so I know when to start them ahead of time so they are not all leggy when I move them out.

thanks,
