Lavendar is so pretty and smells so sweet but everyone tells me it is hard to get started. I bought seedlings and have already set them out in a sunny location. I live in the Southeast US where temps have already been in the 80's. All ideas welcome. Thanks

I have never started mine from seed, I've heard starting from seed is hard. I purchased my plants at a nursery and have had mine come back for 3 years now and I live in a state where they aren't even supposed to grow! They claim zone 5 on up and I live in zone 4. So, they are not hard to grow, but be careful as to not to cut back too far on the plant when in the dormant stage because new growth starts from pretty much all parts of the plant when full grown.

Water faithfully the first season you plant it, as with any perennial - than it's almost drought tolerant for seasons to come. It loves hot sunny locations!! My lavender plants are about 3 feet tall!!

Good luck!

I've never had any problems with lavendar. Don't over water, don't let it dry out. Pretty easy plant to grow in my opinion, even here in the southwest desert.
