The National Wildlife Federation has a certification program; cost to participate is $15. Getting the sign for bragging rights is more. They have over 77,000 yards certified nationally. Their goal is 100,000.

I finally signed on as I think it would send a good message to the neighbors and perhaps inspire someone else to garden for wildlife.

I asked this question earlier and I know the fertizer in the product is not harmful but what about the insecticide in it? Since it is adsorbed through the roots of the plant... The product says not to use on plants intended for food, so what about the nector in the flowers that the hummers and butterflies are after? I've searched the web and called nurseries...cant find what I'm looking for. Does anyone know where I could find out? thanks.

The opening to the hole is 1.5 ft squared. After investigating the hole we discovered roughly an 8 foot square hole underneath part of the garden and heading under the house, this is as far as the eye can see, so we are unsure if it goes further. The hole itself is too neat to have been dug by an animal.
The health and safety officer was useless and our landlord is completely baffled can anyone help us identify where this hole may have come before the rest of the garden caves in.
It is confirmed not to be a cesspit.

I'm wanting to have these as part of my wedding flowers, but we're trying to use seasonal flowers only, because of the cost and the energy that it takes to produce flowers year round. The wedding is September first. Thanks.

I have my pepper seedlings in 4" peat pots under lights in my basement. I would say the temp is a constant 65-70 degrees. Some are doing well and some of them have leaves that are curling. What is causing the curling?

They're all over the place - on gravel, grass, and flower beds. There must be an easier way than just scooping them up with gardening gloves. Some of them are wet and embedded. Is there a hoover (rather than blower)?

Was wondering....last year when i cut my grass i then followed it up the next day with a weed-killer spray (2-4D) i noticed that my grass started turning yellow. I couldnt figure it out for the longest time and realized oh pooh was the grass in such a weak state (after being cut) that my spraying the herbicide actualyl hurt it even more? Is this true?

Thanks

We just finished our snow flurry here near Toronto, Ontario Canada and now the days seem consistently warm (yesterday was between 15-20C / 59-68F). My grass height is long since i didnt cut it before the Winter season. I would like to cut it now but i am afraid it might be too early for the grass to handle such a thing. Can someone tell me if it is ok?
