get your friends around and see who can pee down the hole into the tunnels, but you will need to do this ever time you see a mole hill.

What old gardeners used to do was use 'morning water' from the 'gusunders', morning water is the name that was given to the pee that the residents put in to the chamber pots overnight then it was pushed under the bed, hence the gusunder bit

Some chance you have got if the moles move in, they did on my lawn and what a mess,!!! I tried all sorts from mole traps to noises even the cat didn't deter them, they leave a labyrinth of tunnels under the lawn you would think it was the underground station, in the end I got a vermin exterminator, who put poison worm down where their run was and hey bingo, no mole. (great would do it again and chance the wrath of mole lovers)

I dont think keeping poison is a good idea, even harmless animals like birds and sqirrales in the garden might eat them and die. Poison might even be harmful to your household animals too.

Push a cane into the molehill and put an empty plastic bottle on the end on top or stick the bottle in the hole with the end facing the prevailing wind.
This is because moles are afraid of sounds and vibrations.
What you create above is noise that will drive them away.

I use moth balls. Where you see a mound, dig carefully down to the tunnel, (about 4-6 inches), and drop in a couple moth balls. It won't kill the critters, but they will move out to a different area. If their new area is still in your lawn, repeat the above.

Adopt a cat. Or spread some kind of animal urine on your lawn. And if all else fails, if you don't own a pet, it's gross but it's cheap and non-toxic, pee there yourself. The scent will deter them, and it's quite humane.

Poison, If you go to hardware or maybe garden center that sells seeds ask for a seed that is a poison. If they sell it as a poison they have to be regulated and will cost 10x as much. I buy to grow (not) and get it for about a buck

why don't you slab or mono-block it, to my knowledge moles have not evolved enough to use picks or pneumatic drills, at least not for the foreseeable future.
