Go to the local plant nursery and they will sell you the plants that are suitable for an apartment.
Hybrid rose will flower all the time, money plant do well and nursery people will show you lots of other that are suitable for an apartment.
For vacation find a friend to water the plant, or buy an automatic watering system, if the apartment is close tight and light is cut down the plant will not need that much water.
In USA during winter months I am able to let them go without water for about 15 days at about 55 degree F temperature, they do look stress but they rejuvenate in few days with tender loving care. The trick is to soack the soil with water(day before), and have large-deep tray under the pot, that I fill up with water just before locking up the apartment for vacation.
I usually water the plant once a week in winter and twice a week or as needed in summer. You have to let the soil get dry from time to time to prevent it from getting funguse and mold and milldue.

I don't know any websites for gardening in India or what types of plants are suitable in the summer. But, in apartment you might want something small like daises or something like that. If you go for a vacation you could ask a friend to stay in your house to water your plants or ask a neighbor or a family member.

Succulents or Terrariums. Yucca plants are suitable, as well as cactus. These plants take care of themselves, also Aloe plants, you get a beautiful plant, when broken off, can use the Aloe on skin for lotion. Can break off and plant elsewhere for another plant.
