I have a fairly large broadleaved tree in my garden that I want to decorate with fairy lights. The most I can find on an outdoor set is 300. Think I would need substantially more than that. Does anyone know where I could get these (live in N Ireland so may need websites) or have any experience / advice you could share with me on this subject?

Thanks

The plant is a climber and grows in tropical countries. It uses its clasping roots to hold on to walls or trees. Its leaves are green, big and oblong (about 30cm long). It does not bear any flowers.

I have about 3 acres of topsoiled ground to plant, It doesn't have to be perfect but I would like some nice thick hearty grass to grow. It is a sizeable investment so I want it to grow. So far I know that firm ground is the secret, I have found that letting the rain pound down the soil works pretty well to firm it up. I am in Ontario Canada (Barrie). What type of seed for growth/thickness vs. cost is recommended, where does one get a good deal on bulk, when do I plant, and is it ok to spread the seed and then sort of drag a piece of fence over the see to work it in or should I just leae it laying on top? I can not water it, I can wait until the fall if that is better than spring, I just want a good yield.

my new house had new bermuda grass sod installed 2 weeks ago. Should I water it now...or is it dormant now? It currently looks like new sod in separate pieces that haven't fused together yet. I assume I should water it but any thoughts?

I live in an apartment. My garden is up on my balcony, exposing my pots to cold elements all around their roots. Since my apartment is small I can not bring all of my plants inside. Last year, I used burlap to swaddle the containers and filled the burlap with mulch.

I was wondering if there is any other ways to protect the roots without using the mulch, because in the spring it was messy and gross to say the least.

Also, I grow trees on my balcony now. How can I prtect their branches? The tree I am most concerned about is a type of GrAfTed willow. It's not a weeping kind, but it forma a round ball with its branches.

Oh! One more thing, I also grow plants by my front door. I read that using leaves as a mulch is fantastic, because as they deacy, they feed the plants. But the leaves are blowing away. How can I get them to stay put throughout EvErY season, and not just winter?

thanks,
sammie
