Yes - You boil them, only you have to change the water a few times during the process.
You cook snails by turning them upside down on hot coals for about 3 minutes!

The edible snails are a fresh water variety - not your common or garden snail. I should know I love escargot in garlic butter! (with crusty bread to dip in the juice).

I was always told you could only eat crustaceans ie with a shell, but only after starving them for at least 24 hours. (imported into England by the Romans apparently!).

A friend ate a slug raw in the pub for a bet. We never saw him for a week afterwards, told they were poisonous.ANOTHER FINE MESS HE GOT HIMSELF INTO!!!!

Just don't eat them raw, they can have a parasite which makes humans very ill!
