Recut the base of the tree to open a fresh cut. This will allow water to again be taken up from the water stand.

take the tree out of the stand and cut 1/2 inch off the bottom.... when the water dries up, the sap gunks up on the bottom of the tree and blocks water absorption.
Be Blessed!

I guess you have already decorated it, but if you had not you could trim the tree trunk to let the water in. It has gotten hard and won't let the water in now.

Try warm water or seven-up - we've used both before and it helps a bit - also it may just need to soak for a day or two - otherwise you will need to recut the base.

This is dangerous!! A dried out tree is an invitation for disaster. There is no way this tree lasts through the season. Please have a safe and happy Christmas!!

React the bottom. Keep it full of water and check every day! If it dries out you will have a fire hazard!

I agree with the first answerer, but must add that I am impressed and humbled at your promptness to seasonal decorating.
