27 is the right answer, but so many wrong answers means someone really doesn't understand the question.
Let's take it in steps.
A "cubic foot" (of anything) is an amount that would fit in a small square box (i.e. a cube) that is one foot long in each dimension - length, width, and height (depth).
A "cubic yard" (of anything) is an amount that would fit in a larger square box (i.e. a larger cube) that is one yard (i.e. 3 feet) long in each dimension - length, width, and height (depth).
So - one way to think about the question is "how many little 1 foot square boxes (cubes) would fit inside a larger box that was a yard long in each dimension?"
Imagine filling the larger box with the little boxes, one at a time. Since each little box is one foot long, it would take 3 little boxes to fill each side of the larger box. So it would take 9 little boxes to cover the bottom, 9 more little boxes to fill up the middle, and 9 more little boxes to cover the top layer. Three layers of 9 boxes each, would be 27 boxes.
Therefore, there are 27 cubic feet in one cubic yard - of anything.

That one million' x one million' tile suggested till now could be one million sq. foot or 12" x 12" = one hundred forty four sq. inches and one hundred forty four x 12 = 1728 cubic inches (in one cubic foot) 3' = one million backyard 3' x 3' = 9 sq. feet in one sq. backyard and 9 x 3 = 27 cubic feet (in one cubic backyard, or in basic terms undeniable backyard) so 40' x 20' = 800 sq. feet. If it substitute right into one million foot thick, it may be 800 cubic feet, whether this is not, it somewhat is one million/2 foot thick... 800 x .5 = 4 hundred cubic feet 4 hundred (the # of cubic feet you pick) divided with the aid of 27 (the style of cubic feet in a cubic backyard) = 14.80 two wish that helps.
