Mulch over them-about 4 inces, you can use chopped leaves which give off acid-tulips love acid. YOU CAN ALSO USE a fertilizer that has been formulated just for tulips....KECK

Tulip bulbs need near freezing temps to get going for spring bloom. If it didn't get cold enough, they won't bloom. Next year try putting them in the fridge or a cold cellar from Sept.-Mar. Plant them in the ground no deeper than they are wide, do not let the bulbs touch in the planting hole. Always plant in groups of at least 5 to get a pretty display. Mix bone meal in with each planting hole.cover, mulch & enjoy!

How long have they been in a pot?? Have you put nutrients in it? Tulips require alot of organic material. That builds up the nutriants needed for the bulbs to grow. They also like bone meal in the soil afer bloom, so they will build up the energy needed for next seasons flowers. Also they don't do as well after the first year.
