There is a "white toilet paper" like substance growing on some of the cacti in our back and front yards. A small portion will come off with high pressure spray from the hose, but always keeps coming back. I assume this is a fungus of some sort, but have been unable to find any information about it or a name. This stuff literally looks like someone wet toilet paper or tissue and threw it on the cacti. I believe it is slowly killing the cacti and would really like to know what this stuff is, and what can I do to remove it permanently??? Any gardening tips would be greatly appreciated too....Thanks!

My peace lilly is looking sick. The edges of the leaves are dying and some leaves have died completely. How should I remove the dead leaves and what can I do about the ones that are slowly turning brown? I water it about every second day and wipe the leaves of dust once a week. What am I doing wrong?

I want to put a couple Arbovitaes on my deck to create a privacy sheild but want to know if they can last just planted inside a large ceramic pot? If not which plant would be good for this.
p.s. I live in the Central Pacific Northwest (U.S.).

Obviously in the same garden, but do they have to be growing right next to each other to be fully effective?

I've read that peppermint repels flea beetles. Peppermint is soooooooo invasive! Can I just cut the leaves off of a PMint plant elsewhere, and scatter it on what I want to protect? Or make a spray?

I live in Michigan and my and my neighbors' lawns have Quack Grass. Quack grass is similar to grass but has a wider leaf, lighter green color and grows about 40% faster than lawn grass. I have tried tediously pulling it out one at a time, and I tried using Roundup to the dismay of my lawn. Is there something commercially available to kill the quack grass ?

why does it seem that there are gophers? or Moles? in my yard?
I end up with piles of dirt every day almost now! I have to shovel the dirt away, and now it's in so many places it's not looking good.
On the grass it happens, as well as In the gardens too.
How can I stop this from happening?? anyone have some ideas?

Unfortunately we got hit by a heat wave a week after, and most of it did okay except for one area that looked like it got scorched. Now I'm seeing a lot more spots. I checked the sprinkler coverage and it appears to be fine. I water 2X a day. What's the deal? Why's it dying one me.

I live in Minnesota so July gets very hot with very little rain. I have heard about some people poking holes in garden hoses to water their landscaping plants and I think that sounds like a good idea. I just want to know if anyone has done it and if it worked well. I don't really want to spend even that little bit of money for something that doesn't work.

The rose of Sharon bushes I have planted are now "sprouting:" new bushes over my grass. I have probably 100 mini bushes about 2in. tall and growing. I need to get rid of them. I can not dig up 100 little bushes.
I used weed killer that will not kill the grass but to no avail.
Help!! Any ideas?? Thanks !!
