These are beneficial insects. Please do not kill them.

The males, which guard the nest, do not even possess stingers. The females, which are capable of stinging, are off hunting for cicadas and are not a threat. They are docile unless provoked.

No No No, they are beneficial wasps!!!!! They don't hurt the flowers at all. The damn cicada will eat your yard ! Why in heavens name would you kill a poor solitary wasp that is beneficial to you?!?!?!?!?!
Please log on to any University web site in the horticultural Dept. or call your local extension service, Those knowledgeable folks will tell you the same thing,

Spare these predators please and save your yard!!!!!!!!!
