I want to put a couple Arbovitaes on my deck to create a privacy sheild but want to know if they can last just planted inside a large ceramic pot? If not which plant would be good for this.
p.s. I live in the Central Pacific Northwest (U.S.).

Dwarf conifers are an excellent choice for container gardening. A dwarf arborvitae or other choice if available will do just fine and your maintenance will be very low.

you are gonna need a very big pot for this.arbovitaes are fast growers and would grow to big for the pots within a short time.you would have to get them into the ground by the fall also.try putting up a piece of lattice and then planting some vines to grow over it.good luck

If you transplant them into very big pot you can buy yourself a couple of years. Also, if the rootball freezes, it could die.
