I have already replaced the fill valve and flappers on a couple of 12 yr old toilets. We have a small stream of water that runs down the back of the toilet from the flush valve and the plumber is quoting $400 to fix it. That sounds ridiculous but my PHD in toilet repair only goes so far at the moment. Is this something I can reasonably consider doing myself? He also tried to get me to get a new toilet hah! no way pal... this is an old toilet and its not one of these new flush em 16 times to make something go down! Hope got all the terminologies correct.

I am looking for a waterproof light to put on the underside of my deck railings. It needs to be a low profile(less than 1" tall), needs to be flush mount, less than 4" in diameter(or close) and inexpensive( less than $80 a piece). Low voltage would be a plus but not necessary. Please help.

My wife has her favorite sofa and I have mine. On hers, she has a fleece throw blanket with tigers on it, that my mother made her. I want one with my favorite thing on it: Star Trek. Where can I find fleece with a Star Trek print? Could be a Starfleet logo, the Enterprise, etc... I've done a search but cannot find it.

I have a fairly small bathroom that has old ceramic tile floor. I've come to the conclusion that taking up this old tile is going to be very difficult and result in some major chipping of the subfloor in the process. I'm tempted to just install sheet vinyl over the tile. Can this be done? How do I need to prepare the tile in order to lay the vinyl? Also, there's one spot behind the toilet that really needs some leveling. Is there a good floor leveler that I can trowel down that will adhere to tile? thanks.

I want to kill these little &%^$#@'s! They keep us up at night, they are ruining our house chewing holes, and Im sure destroying the insulation in the attic. And I read that they are a fire hazard because they can chew wires. I did some research to get rid of them but I want to hear from people who have had this problem and found something that actually works. Please help me get rid of these damn things?!

I plan to insulate my 2x8 joists with R 22 and use a foil lined vapour barrier. To anyone who has constructed one, would this be adequate for the sauna ceiling or should I fill the entire cavity?

Oh yeah, flooring on main floor is laminate.

A friend of mine's told me that his builder installed some "felt" between his window and the frame. After the installation, he could no feel the cold air coming in between along the side of the windows as he used to.

My windows have the same problem. I went to Lowes but they only have stripping products, which cannot be used here.

So I need some help please ...

I have a washer and dryer (the washer leaks), a big blue rocking chair, and a compact dryer that we had before we found a full size one. I also have a futon that I just want to throw away, it's been sitting in my basement for a year and it's not useable.
