What you need to get is a sheet of Plexiglass, you can find it at lumber stores.
Polyurethane is a varnish and wont make much of a roof.

polyurethane fiberglass, great for boats and roofs and such as that, installation involves spreading a coat of poly resin down on the surface, and covering it with fiberglass sheeting then applying another coat of resin and another coat of sheeting and another coat of resin. this is different than the varnish, don't get that.
it is also a royal pain in the @$$, wear disposable protective clothing and gloves and goggles (do NOT rub your eyes or anywhere on your face for any reason while doing this process, these materials will blister you real good), you may want to have some one help you, because wind or any draft could cause the sheeting material to shift screwing everything up.
i've had experience with this, and wild horses from hell cannot drag me back to doing anything like it again, good luck...you might want to hire it out...just a thought, might keep you out of the hospital

not quite sure of your application but EPDM or rubber is available for that application. It is easy to install and will last a long time. I think that the poly they are refering to is a comercial product which replaced the white EPDM because of cost. Try the rv dealers for some original roofs and for repairs often this materal is used. It i glued to the substrate with a roller applied adhesive.
