I recently moved into a house that was refinished, but they apparently forgot to finish the bathtubs. They are matte, not slick and shiny and they have some stains and rough patches. I think they're so gross I don't even want to take a bath in them! I've seen people painting bathtubs on tv shows, but Lowe's said they didn't have bathtub paint. Do I need to call plumber or someone else to have this done? I'm willing to pay someone else to do it or do it myself, just need to know what's involvwed or who I should call. Thanks!

I have a detached 1 car garage on my home that is about 80 years old. The roof is new and the garage is in very good shape so i dont want to rebuild. There is a crack across the floor in one part of the garage. after the crack the cement floor slopes down (like it sank into the ground). When you enter the garge the crack is about 6 feet into the garage running across almost the entire floor. The slope is not very steep (maybe 3/4" over 5 feet). I was thinking of pouring new cement ontop of the existing cement floor and re-leveling it. Good idea? how do I do it?
Thanks!

I want to rewire my house. The wiring right now makes no sence and is inefficient. Can I use 10 guage ROMEX wire to rewire the whole house? I am looking at buying a 1000 ft roll of ROMEX wire for this project and would like to use only the 10 gauge ROMEX. Is their a code that says I cannot do that? Most 110 line is either 12 or 14 gauge wire. This is why I am asking.

Hi,
I'm painting a ceramic-glazed plate using paints for fabric/ceramic & other surfaces. I wanted to test it...so I rubbed my finger against the paint; nothing happened, so I scratched it gently, and it started flaking off.

The paint instructions say that you have to blow-dry the surface after 24 hrs, which I haven't done as yet. Will that keep it from flaking?

If not, should I use a transparent varnish or lacquer? Can you plz recommend some names?

Also, I plan to use this plate as a serving dish....can food be safely kept on a varnished / lacquered surface or are there some other precautions I need to take?

Thanks.

I want to know if i need to hire an electrician to wire my laundry hookup with 220. Dryer electrical requirements are: 30 amp, 120/240 volts, 60 htz. A four-wire or three-wire, sigle phase electrical supply required. A time-delay fuse or circuit breaker and separate circuit is recommended.

I would like it to look like a rectangle, or like a skylight. I quess the big problem is getting the Solar glass panel. I'm pretty handy in making things, but I don't want it to look like some ugly junk on my roof. Some sights on the internet say to buy their book, but I'm not sure thats the way to go... I need help, and some FREE heat!

I have several Bessey type woodworking clamps (not the K body) and they have a considerable build up of regular woodworking glue that I would like to get cleaned up. Is there a way to do this by soaking the clamps in something that won't hurt the clamp?

Do you know which chain stores carry Stripeze? In particular I'm looking for it anywhere from Cumberland, MD to Altoona, PA, but even if you don't live near/know that area, if you know of chain stores that carry it, that would be very helpful!
Thanks,

So far I've been looking at Sears and Home Depot for circular saws, table saws and sanders. We build our own custom furniture sporadically, but we've always borrowed tools so I think it's time we get our own. What features should I look for and is there one brand that is much better quality?

I am about to purchase a micro fiber-suede sectional and in a beige color. Well, the store wants to charge me $150 to get the fabric protector. I would rather buy something else with that money. I would like to know if I can buy something over the counter to protect it without ruining it if I apply it myself. Has anyone used some kind of protector and with what results? Good or bad? Please help, thank you!!
