Is it a polyester blend or what? If it isn't real suede then what is it? I am buying a suede microfiber couch and was going to try Scotchgaurd but they don't recommend using is on suede. So would it be safe since it is not real suede?

Microfiber suede is awesome. It feels good, looks great, and is easy to clean. Below is a link to help you on the maintenance of your new couch. I don't think it needs to even have scotguard protection. Microfiber is manmade, and is usually a blend of two or more fibers. In your case it is probably very fine fibers of suede blended with polyester. Actually, it is probably mostly made up of polyester...this is what makes it so easy to keep clean. The 2nd link will give you more info on microfiber products, including suede.
