I have only one phone jack right now. I need one in another part of the house. I have no idea if there are any phone wires over there, or how to find out. Should there be wires over there, or do I also need to run phone wires through the walls? In this case, would I be better off getting a professional to do this?

I notice in sound studios the grooves are toward the room. So, if I'm trying to keep hallway noise out of a room, I'm thinking grooves should be turned towards the door. What do you think?

It seems like Home Depot has more of the work horse, utilitarian stuff, and lowes more of the designer stuff....for example...more toilets at HD, more toilet seats at Lowe's....more varites of plywood and drywall at HD....more flooring selection at Lowes...
I Think they sort of both have their place. but the Lowes is about 1/2 mile from my house, so i prefer Lowes

I've heard that many egg trays attached to plywood is good. I'd attach them in several layers to both sides of the plywood. My application would be for an apartment door, to protect against loud hallway noise. Any other ideas?!
