The tile is applied to a plywood or particle board base. To get that loose, you need to inspect the cabinets for attachment points. Are your old cabinets store bought? If so, each cabinet has gussets, or brackets, in the top corners. These can be made of wood, metal, or even plastic. Most counter installers put screws through these, to anchor the top. Open an end cabinet. If it has a drawer, take it out. Get a flashlight and lie on your back, with your head in the cabinet. You should see screws in the corners. If the installer attached from below, you'll see the screw heads. If he was lazy and went in from above, you'll have to cut them out. When installing the new top, always attach from below., making sure that your screw length will grab, but not come through the top of the counter.

The secret is to take measurements of the old top to know how big it is when you buy the new one..... the tiles will be fitted on a wooded board or i think so..... you will have to remove the tiles first .If you not want to use the tiles again just break then and remove then with a hammer and flat chisel, when that's done look if you can see some screws or nails that hold the wood in place .Remove the nails or screws and lift the wood of ,it may need a but of hammering cos it may be glued to the frame. If there are no nails or screws on top look at the bottom of it and see what method they used to hold it down and remove what ever you see there that hold the old top. If you are happy the way the old one fitted on to the frame just fit the new one the same way .

No easy way out- hammer and chisel the tiles off- you will then find 1x6 boards nailed or screwed to the Cabinet top, secure the Sink, depending on how its set in.
Needless to say this is a messy job- if you going back with Tile leave the boards- if not, make sure you measure everything perfectly and draw a sketch, - make sure the walls are Square with each other, if not, make adjustments in the new top-
