I have seen a trendy, industrial flooring like this in a gallery. Just concrete, but it looks softer and smoother. What do you do to the concrete floor for this effect|?

I have a cushioned sheet vinyl floor in my kitchen and have moved the washing machine, there are now dents in the floor when the washing machine's feet were on the vinyl. Is there any way to remove or reduce these marks. I have similar dents where the breakfast bar stools used to go. Underneath the vinyl is a slighly cushioned waterproof membrane (as recommended for laying vinyl on concrete). It seems the vinyl needs to slightly shrink to lessen the dents but i don't know how to achieve this. Thanks

does anyone know any good websites for building detached garages with living space above them. I have been on coolhouseplans, and dreamhouseplans, and others but I still can not find the one I want to build. Also, does anyone know a good site with a checklist so I can be my own general contractor? thanks.

I suspect that the stinking smell is related to the wool treatment method or the dye they used. I have aired the carpet under the sun for several days but the smell is still there. I am not sure if wet washing will get rid of the smell.

The roof above our 2 back rooms is a flat- top rubber roof. The only way to get out there is to go out the 2nd door in our upstairs bathroom. There's no enclosure out there and it should have a railing. The ins agent said we could do one ourselves with 2x4's.
What's the best pre-treated wood and hardware to use?

The door is right beside the edge of the roof, and in the 5 years we lived here, I've never set foot out there. I'm a chicken $hit.

My friends and I are building this awsome tree fort in the woods. We've been going out there for at least 2 months now and are just starting to build it. There are some signs of people being out there and we don't want anyone wrecking our hard work. Should we build booby traps out there. I don't no who owns the woods in the forest, so I dont want a trap or security device hurting the owner but I don't want anyone wreking the fort. Any good advice would be apreciated, thanks.
