No matter how I did it there was always overspray and some of the finish needs to be buffed. Can I do this? What do people do after painting furniture to make it the smoothest it can be? Please give me any advice and things I need to do. What type of cloth or buffing pads or things to use? Thanks.

That is inexpensive to do? My daughters play room is cluttered and I would like to make it look more tidy and together but don't want to spend a fortune on it... Are there any ideas to make it look more cleaner..? Other than getting rid of all their toys? We do that atleast once a year.. I was thinking of a way to hide it in something... Any cheap easy ideas?

I have stockade fence that I need to stain and I'm not sure how much stain I should buy. So before I trust the sales people, I would like to have a little bit of an idea about it before I go shopping. The fence is 225 feet in length and 6 feet high and I need to stain both sides.

My toilet was leaking, I replaced the tank bolts, and the innards of the tank. When I did that I realized that the shut off valve TO the toilet leaks, and never really shuts off. I think I can replace it, but any advice will be appreciated. It's ruining my flooring around the toilet and the wax ring may be leaking now too.

I have a 1 acre pond and want to aerate it. I don't want to spend a lot of money and was looking to make the aerator, either fountain or bubbler, instead of buying one. I am looking for detailed instructions.

My poor neighbor who her house is under a bunch of trees, has extreme red ant infestation. They are in her mobil home, on their beds, in the cars. You name it, they are there. Her landlord told her to call pest control and have them fix it, and he would reimburse, but they want a 1 yr contract and she can't afford..(is a single mom)

Is there any less inexpensive solutions? She is ready to move out.

I am considering buying a serger, but don't know much about them other than they can do a professional job on seams, much better than a sewing machine. I would like to understand how they work, and what to consider when buying one.

Serious answers only, please...
Still trying to identify if these are carpenter ants or not, they are big and black, that's for sure. (Will try to get agriculture extension to id on Monday.) We can't seem to locate a "trail" of where they are coming from, rather they are scattered about individually. The one exception was when they took over our trash bag a week ago (don't know WHAT they found in there; I was throwing away PAPERS, for gosh sakes!). They are in kitchen and bathroom areas only, but really getting to my dear 91 year old Dad, who is talking about calling in exterminator, which I would like to avoid. Dad doesn't complain about much, so I know this is bad for him. So far have tried: ant traps, vinegar, cayenne pepper, and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. Am nervous about using the boric acid; seems too much like poison. Is borax related to boric acid? That would seem safer, if as effective.
