I am going to be building a new home. Nothing huge, I’m single, no kids. I’m thinking a two bedroom one floor finished basement. Some sort of cottage or bungalow type deal. I’m starting a list of what it must have. As in a garage with a door leading into a mud room and then the kitchen? Or into an entry way next to the front door? Steps from the garage down into the basement? I guess I’m asking about basic convenient layout. What about your homes layout do you like? What do you wish you had? What don’t you like?

One thing I do want even though it will be a smaller home is a decent sized entry. I visit new homes, even larger ones, and all of the company ends up on this tiny bit of tile in the entry way falling over each other, the kids and the dog trying to put shoes on and off.

The bathroom has 3 lightbulbs right above the sink, but the shower and toliet area are dark areas. Also when choosing lighting, should the lighting sconces or whatever turn up with the light going towards the ceiling, or should the globes face downward?

Do they go in the kitchen cabinets? If yes, won't ants get to them?
If no, then where does it go?

There used to be many stickers on my bedroom door. I took them off one day, and the paint went off with them. Some of the stickers didn't even come off completely.
How do I remove the stickers? Or should I just paint over them?

i'm doing a renovation job for my company and all the walls are old plaster. the lath behind the plaster just eats up sawzall blades left and right. grinders and such are dusty as hell.we need nice clean cuts on the walls that don't come out. i've delt with this stuff before and haven't really found a good way to do it without dust and without 50 packs of sawzall blades. how bout you?

I am trying to find yardage of reflective material to make linings for my curtains to keep out the hot afternoon sun. The material I am looking for is similiar to that of tinfoil or those reflecting sun shields used in car windows. Does anyone have an idea where I can find this type of material or the techological name for it as I am not having much sucess typing in "reflective material" in my search engine. Thanks

I have never tried to make a balloon arch. From what I read, I need to make symetrical bunches of balloon clusters. How do you attach the balloons to the arch (I will need to use PVC)? How should I anchor the arch to the floor? Any other suggestions?
