I have all of these beautiful high school dances favors such as picture frames, champagne glasses, and etc. with the themes printed on them such as "A Night in Paris," "Winter Wonderland," and ect. I have been in college for a while now , and high school really does not matter much to me anymore. I still, however, want to use these favors as dorm decorations, but I do not want the printed themes on there. I have tried all different products to remove them. I have used bleach, different kinds of bathroom cleaners, glass cleaners, etc.

I really want to just take a pot scrubber and scrape them off, but I don't want to scratch my stuff.

These favors are made of plastic and glass.

Any tips for me?

I am thinking about painting butterflies, frogs or even a large mural in my bathroom ( which is a bathroom for family and guests and small...). I want to do something but I haven't been able to settle my mind on one thing. If it were you what would you paint...?

I'm planning on building a wall in my basement to close in an area. I need to fasten the 2x4 to the ground, and I've been told (via searching on the internet) to use a powder actuated drill. What other solution are there, if any? Also, same question fastening to basement wall; I'm leary of cracking the exterior wall by drilling into it.

Gangs came and spray painted my fence with badwords that i dont think i would like my children to see. I dont have a pressure washer,Ive tried painting a couple of rimes back, but they do it again constantly, and putting new fence pickets is a bad idea cause it is clear to see their graffiti better. What should i do?

In my bedroom I have an a/c unit on the wall. It's brown and sits about a foot from the ceiling. It sticks out about a foot and is about 2 feet wide. Did I mention it's brown?:( I rent so I cannot remove or paint it, or perm. cover it. I have to be able to use it in the summer because it's the only a/c I have in the entire apartment. My bedroom isn't really decorated yet, so I'm not too restricted on coloring. 2 walls are white (one of which being the a/c wall) and 2 are gry/wht paneling. I know, gross. My carpet is dusty med to dark blue. I have a dark wood bed and that's about it. I cannot paint the walls, but I could possibly put fabric up? So, what I need is some sort of really inexpensive way to cover this. I mean REALLY inexpensive way. Also, if you have any decor ideas for the rest of my room, I'm pretty desperate there, too.

I recently quit my job so I could go back to school. I have next to zero funds. I find myself feeling blah and having no energy at home. Actually, it doesn't even feel like home. I know that this is partly to due to asthetics. Due to that job, which consumed my life for 3 years, I never had time to decorate. I'm too...well, yucky feeling, to be creative anymore. I think I need some ideas to decorate, cheaply, so that my surroundings make me feel a little more ...at home. Then maybe the rest will come. Here's a bit of info about my apartment:

It's very small. small bathroom with no shelves and just a sink with nothing under it, toilet and bath/shower. Only a small mirrored medicine cabinet. White walls, gry/wht floor. Silver towel bars and faucets. Very very small. small bedroom, blue carpet gry/wht panneling on walls. livingroom kitchen only seperated by a low counter. same walls and floor in lroom as bdrm. ktchn & bthrm same floors. please help. pics? details?

I have a project that I need help. I am doing a huge Zen living room, about 2000 square feet with vaulted ceilings about 30'. There is a fireplace in the middle and I am considering a river rock (blue green) color to go with the cherry wood floors. Should I use the river rock or go with a cleaner look? Pictures of any grand style completed projects would be wonderful.

I need some help on how to make an upholstered headboard that attaches to the bed frame and not the wall.

I have looked online but almost all of them attach to the wall. I want to use 2" think foam, covered in batting, and then fabric.

Would I need to make some legs and cover them in fabric too?

I had light ash laminate floors put in about two years ago. They're still in great shape - but they've lost the sheen they had when new. Is there anything that replaces that shine? Or is the dullness just a fact of life with laminates?

I live in the upstairs at my g-ma's house and she keeps it at like 80 downstairs, heat rises and its so hot up here. I've opened the windows but then it gets too cold. I closed all the vents upstairs. I walk around nearly (if not) naked already...Any advise to moderate the temp without all the hot and cool spots?
Thank you.

I have a feeling, I'll be asking alot of questions in this category... We are planning on small changes over the next year to prepare our house for sale. I'll be repainting eventually and am wondering if it's alright to paint the kitchen and living room the same color? It's not an open floor plan, though you can see the rooms from each other. There is also a bathroom off of the kitchen, would I have to paint that too?

We are planning small home improvements during the next year to prepare our house for sale. I would like to switch out our 4 year old formica countertop and replace it with granite tile. A slab is out of the question due to cost. We have a small kitchen and would need about 40 tiles. When I looked on the internet for costs, it seems I can get these tiles for under $300.00? Does that sound right, I think that's less than what we paid for the Formica. Also, my next question is can you use the same tile for the entryway, which is next to the kitchen, or it that a little too much of the same thing?
