i just moved in a small one bedroom apt (rented) and I am stuck with white walls and a bluish gray carpet for both the living area and bedroom. I really like to incorporate red or other warm colors but I'm afraid that colors might clash. As of the moment, I only have my bed, which has a dark brown headboard. Any suggestion on what color of furnitures will work? how can I make my place inviting? if warm colors are not possible, what colors will work? what type of decor?

I live in Winter Park Florida and just bought one of those cardboard fireplaces, I can't seem to find fake fire logs. I tried all of the local department stores, ie: Kmart, Walmart, and Target, with no luck. I did look on Ebay, but the shipping is more than the fake logs. Does anyone know where I can find them?

I recently purchased my first home and am in the processing of decorating. My master bedroom is a bit smaller than previously (at my apartment). My bed is queen sized so it tend to take up a lot of room so I am looking for some tips to make the room appear larger.

Getting rid of the bed is not an option right now because I don't have the money to replace it. I know that light colors will make the room appear more spacious but do you guys have any more tips for me?

I was wondering whether or not to use a house jack, and do you use a sledge hammer to tear out the existing wall; and do we need to shut off power to that room b4 getting started?

I as many home owners have a problem. We build a home in an area. We build an avarege footage size home, and added much more to it such as a paved road, pond, pool, outside lights, inground wiring, and other outside eminities.
Inside the same is done, such as stain glass on doors, oversized garage, phones in all rooms,as well as tv hook up.
Granet counters, custtom fixtures, deck, and many other emenities..

QUESTION IS?
WHY IS THIS HOME COMPAIRED BY APPRAISERS TO OTHERS OF SAME FOOTAGE SIZE, WHICH HAS LESS AND COST LESS TO HAVE IT AS THIS ONE DID, AND GIVEN THE OTHER HOMES VALUE, TO YOURS, when they are worst byuild and has less??.

IN OTHER WORDS CAN YOUR HOME REGARDLESS TO HOW MUCH YOU PUT INTO IT, HAS NO MORE VALUE THAN YOUR NEIGHBORS.

iF THAT IS THE CASE THAN WHY, IS IT THAT SOME same size HOMES ARE SOLD FOR A MILLIOM AND OTHERS FOR THOUSANDS, IN THE SAME NEGHBORHOOD, OR AREA to celebrties, clingtons, madona and alike, where is the system .??
a fair sysetm

Have looked at granite and some other stone coverings. Was concerned about growth between the undercounter basin and the counter top. Which type of countertop material will last the longest with little maintenance?

The cupboard is around 4ft x 4ft. I'm not sure if the freezer would need a bigger space for more air circulation. Thanks in advance for any help.

my boyfriend's friend is a glzier and has taken the job of fitting our cat flap into our patio doors as would do it cheaper for us. however its now been over 3 weeks and it still not done and the price has risen from apprx £100 - £110 to £170 apparently its because the glass is thicker than usual and they have had to call in specialists, im just wondering if it would of been just as expensive if we'd called in professionals but could of had it done 2 weeks ago! can anyone help??

I want to enlarge a couple of my bedroom windows, and wondered if anyone has ever done this or has any expertise advice on whether it would even be possible or wise to do in this situation. Brick house. Corner bedroom with the only windows being 2 that are only 23" wide each, separated by 88 1/2 " on a wall that is a total of 198" (5 1/2 yds.) They face the direct western sun, so the house was probably built this way to block out that sun. But I would like to extend the roof to shade the area (maybe a patio under it) and widen those windows. I like to see OUT and these are too narrow for much window gazing. They are so widely spaced that it looks like they are not in sync together....the room gets on my nerves because of it. And yet....it is my master bedroom. Is this a do-able project, and if so, what kind of price range could I be looking at to get this fixed???
