Color, Color, Color!!! How about rusty red for the white walls. Add other accents around the room in those colors. If you have bar stools cover the tops to match.
A floral arrangement to punch up a corner.

If you have a window add some curtains or a wood stick roll up shade or a roman shade to match the cabinets.

Good Luck.

Mmm. This is a difficult one being that you have the 60's style black & white tile walls. Try adding a color in the red family for the white plaster wall. Red is a bold color and will possibly match well with the black and white. If you use red, the apple theme will be nice. Good Luck.

I would go with the Italian chef theme. If you go to a home improvement store like Lowe's or Home Depot, they have a border wall paper that you could put up right at the top of the tile or a little higher. Walmart carries the kitchen floor mats and place mats and all the other accessories. You could get a pizzeria style table cloth. I know where to find all of this stuff because I wanted to do my kitchen in it but my hubby wanted palm tree motif.
